LEAVING FOR SOUTH CAROLINA

While I am continuing to build the website, a post went out about Ireland. If you were not notified or missed it, just click the back button below.

Sunday, September 29th we left for South Carolina.  We were in Indiana about 3 hours from home in a really nice state campground we have visited before and like very much.  They have a lot of scarecrows around the property.  See the first set of pictures below for Prophetstown.

Unfortunately, parts of our route are scheduled to take us through the Smokey Mountains where there was a lot of floods and roads have been washed out.  It may be a challenge for us to make our way and reservations.  We will see how it goes.   Of course, our inconvenience is nothing compared to what people have lost and the horrible floods and washed-out roads.

It seems like we have not been home for a long time.  We left July 22nd to go to Colorado, returned home on August 24th.    Then I left for London on September 6th, took a mid-trip, trip to Ireland, returned to London and was home in Bloomingdale on September 21st and left on September 29th.   We will be home from this trip on November 12th.   We voted early on Friday and had a lot of set up, shopping and preparations for this trip in that week between London and leaving.

So here we on the road again.  We love being in the RV.  It is tiny but cozy, a word Andrew loved when he was small.  His funniest expression was when he like something he would say it was cozy, cozy, cozy.  It is so relaxing not having much to care for, I can clean the whole thing is 30 minutes and it will shine.  When we cook it is simple grilling and we eat out a lot to taste the local specialties.   Even though it is small, we each have our own spaces.  Ernie always finds a sunny spot to snooze in.  Because there are no distractions, we spend a lot of time together exploring places.  I am so lucky to be living my best life.  I appreciate every moment.

PROPHETSTOWN STATE PARK

From our first park in Indiana, Prophetstown State Park we traveled to the south of Indiana and stayed at Brown County State Park.  We had a great spot and just sat outside, I knit, we ate outside and Jerry rode his bike a lot.  We also took an Uber one day to of all places, Nashville, IN.   It is an artist colony with some very cool shops and of course delicious ice cream.   We decided on this trip to taste as much home made ice cream as we can.  So far it is going well.

I think if I was posting a song about this post it would be:

  1. I’m glad you got the blog up and running again! It lets you tell more of the story than when you post on Facebook, although I also enjoy those posts.
Safe travels for the rest of the trip to South Carolina!
