CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Today started with laundry at 9 am.  When I went to the laundry a young woman was just finishing her two loads.  We had a short conversation about her two little girls and where they were going next.  She had considerably more laundry than I did.

When the laundry was done, we went to Charleston.  We were able to call an Uber and leave the RV at the campsite.   We spent a good amount of time at the downtown market.  It has a long history dating to 1788 when Charles Cotesworth Pinckney gave the land for the express use as a public market.   We saw the original sheds built from 1804 through 1830.  We looked at a lot of interesting things but only bought one thing.   There is a woman who makes sterling silver jewelry based on the iron works of the historic building called Nina Reagan – Sea Island Jewelry.

We also walked around the historic section and went to the shore.  We sampled hot little biscuits, ate lunch and continued the theme of eating ice cream across America.

Lunch stop was at Charleston Crab House and sampled the crab cake and Jerry had the soft-shell crab.

From there we walked to the shore line.

We finished with the ice cream and then hopped an Uber back to the campground.  I logged over 11,000 steps today and when I am done with posting it is time to put up my feet for the day.  It was a wonderful day!
